YTB - MLM Company Compenstion Plan in Question

What rights do you have as an online MLM company? Do you have the right to create a compensation plan that only benefits 1% of the company?

The Better Business Bureau doesn't seem to think so when It was announced on August 8, that investigations are under way with the MLM company YTB (Your Travel Business). The Better Business Bureau are having concerns, as complaints keep coming in from unhappy customers. Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois have had 40 complaints already this year and 50 more from the past 2 years.

The Better Business Bureau supplies us information and features to help us find trustworthy businesses to work with. And YTB customers are feeling mislead by their earnings potential with YTB. The company denies any wrongdoing. But this investigation was announced only days after a $25 million lawsuit had been charged against YTB in California, calling the business "a gigantic pyramid scheme."

Pyramids are illegal, which makes this a pretty serious allegation coming from the State Of California. Will they have a strong enough case against YTB? Many people in the MLM industry will be watching the outcome of this case, as well as the ongoing investigation in Illinois.

Does this throw out a "red flag' to all mlm companies? David Manning, CEO, President and Founder of TraVerus Travel is not worried about his company. This 28 year old "brick and mortar" travel agency, which launched their networking division 18 months ago, designed a compensation plan with the average person in mind. TraVerus Travel is said to be developed for the average person to have success.

Reguardless of whether or not YTB is able to convince the courts that they haven't done anything wrong...and no further pending investigations surface, all the other MLM companies may also be "under the microscope" for a while. But those with nothing to hide, have nothing to worry about. Time will tell how this will effect the MLM companies in general.
